GET FIT
It’s ridiculous to think that we have one body, one sole means of functioning, but so many people are too lazy to take care of themselves. A fit body leads to improved health, increased confidence and more success in all areas of your life, including business. I’d say those are three very good reasons to get in shape.
DON’T TAKE YOURSELF TOO SERIOUSLY
Life can be hard sometimes and it can be easy to lose perspective. Learn to laugh at the little things, be amused by your failures and be thankful that you learned your lesson. Most importantly, do things that you enjoy and spend time with people who make you happy. Life is not strictly business, it can be mixed with pleasure too and it’s important to get a balance.
LIVE IN THE PRESENT
The past is unchangeable so it is useless to regret or reflect on it, unless of course you are making sure you do not repeat past mistakes. The future is but a result of your actions today, so learn from the past to do better in the present so that you can go on to succeed in the future. I live my life by this rule.
SMILE MORE OFTEN
Every time you have a smile on your face, your brain is actually releasing the happy hormone, serotonin. Laughing and smiling is the natural way to force yourself to be happy, and let’s face it – happy people are infectious! Smiling is a very powerful tool, whether you’re walking into a bar or a boardroom, and more people should be aware of its positive influence.
DRINK WATER
Up to 70% of the body is made up from water, so hydration is tremendously important for overall health. The benefits are endless; from increasing your energy levels to promoting weight loss and flushing out toxins. Make sure you top up throughout the day and drink a minimum of 2 litres, more if you’re exercising or in a hot country.
BE POSITIVE
When you find yourself thinking a negative thought, stop it immediately by any means necessary. Take the focus away from that thought and do something positive, like list 5 things you are grateful for, listen to a favourite song, or call your best friend for a chat. Do whatever it takes to get back to a positive mindset, which is an essential ingredient for continued happiness and success.
